The Quartet & the Community

Musicians, educators, collaborators, and advocates bringing music into communities.

The Quartet serves as the artistic core of Eureka Ensemble’s programming because it embodies the values at the heart of our work. In a string quartet, there is no conductor to dictate the conversation. Every musician listens, responds, and shares responsibility for the whole. Every voice is independent, yet each depends on the others. We believe communities flourish in much the same way.

It Takes a Community

While the quartet is at the center of our artistic work, Eureka Ensemble is sustained by a wider community of guest artists, teaching musicians, board members, volunteers, donors, and community partners. Their collective efforts help transform performances into lasting relationships and bring our programs to communities throughout Greater Boston.

ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT

Operations, planning, and program support

Eureka Ensemble approaches music as a form of civic and social engagement, creating opportunities for people to collaborate and become part of something larger than themselves. Whether in a concert hall, a classroom, a community center, or a neighborhood gathering space, the intimacy of the quartet invites audiences closer. By teaching people how to make music—even through something as simple as clapping rhythms—we also teach them how to listen. In doing so, we invite musicians, program participants, and audiences alike into the creative process, building a musical community where every voice matters and everyone belongs.

HOW WE WORK

Programs Tailored to Each Community

We create programs in partnership with local organizations, tailored to often-neglected communities including people experiencing homelessness, immigrants, refugees, and at-risk youth.

HOW WE SERVE

Empowering Through Musical Connection

We harness music to inspire empathy and belonging, empowering people to share their stories and come together in joy to serve the common good.

WHO WE ARE

Musicians As Social Innovators

We mentor skilled young musicians, giving them opportunities to lead, teach, perform, and inspire communities in need through the arts.
