Advisory BoardBernard Pucker
AdvisorBernie and Sue Pucker founded Pucker Gallery on Newbury Street in 1967. In its almost 60 years, the Gallery has come to represent over fifty artists from around the world working in a variety of media including painting, sculpture, photography and fine art pottery. In addition to their contributions to the art world in Boston and beyond, Sue and Bernie have been actively involved within the greater Boston community. Bernie has served as President of Solomon Schechter Day School and the Newbury Street League and has served on the boards of Friends of Copley Square and The Unity Project, among others. He is currently a board member at the Japan Society of Boston and the Jewish Publication Society. He is also a Trustee at Facing History and Ourselves. Bernie received an MA in Modern Jewish History from Brandeis University and a BA in History and English Literature from Columbia College.Brian has spent four decades helping communities work through hard problems together — as an organizer for the ACLU of Massachusetts, as head of Cambridge’s Peace Commission and Police Review & Advisory Board for seventeen years, and now as Deputy Monitor and Community Liaison for Louisville’s police reform consent decree. He serves on the boards of José Mateo Ballet Theatre and Central Square Theater because he believes the arts are civic institutions, and he chairs Eureka for the reason he has done all of it: the people closest to a problem belong at the center of solving it.
