“Sheltering Voices” is a five movement work for soprano, chorus, and orchestra inspired by the five stages of recovery from emotional abuse. This piece is part of a larger Eureka initiative to empower homeless women, educate the public on domestic abuse issues, and support local homeless shelters.

For the choir, we brought together women from homeless shelters in Boston (Women's Lunch Place, Rosie's Place, and Pine Street Inn) and started a choir fellowship program where fellows received vocal training, meals at rehearsal, and a stipend for their participation in performing the world premiere of "Sheltering Voices" with Eureka Ensemble.
