Writing a Wrong

Eureka Ensemble presents a conversation and performance with composer Patricia Wallinga and pianist Sharon Su about the process of creating a new orchestration of Fanny Mendelssohn's "Piano Sonata in G minor".

In the 1840s, Fanny Mendelssohn wrote her energetic, bold Piano Sonata in G minor at a time when societal expectations for women were very different. Join us in "Writing a Wrong" to learn about Fanny's hopes and dreams and how this orchestration rights a historical wrong by giving Fanny's sonata a chance to become a concerto for piano and orchestra.
