Marissa Birne

Volunteer Coordinator

Marissa Birne is a community-builder and believer in the power of music to inspire positive social change. As a Peace and Justice Studies major at Tufts University, Marissa co-founded Public Harmony, a student organization which combines music and service. Public Harmony provides free uplifting performances by student musicians at community venues, including assisted living facilities, shelters, and pediatric cancer care facilities.

Marissa has also served as the Assistant Director of the Manawa Ora Children Community Choir in Wellington, New Zealand, as an Arts Administration Intern at the Longwood Symphony Orchestra, and as the Assistant to the Director of a chorus of elderly singers at North Hill Senior Living Community. Singing since the age of six, Marissa has participated in The Rivers School Conservatory Vocal Chamber Ensemble and Women’s Chorus, as well as the Tufts University Concert Choir and Gospel Choir. In her free time, she enjoys baking, dancing, traveling, and spending quality time with loved ones!

She is excited to join the Eureka Ensemble core team as Volunteer Coordinator: In this role, she will link and lead members of the Eureka Family, mobilizing their shared energy in support of the organization’s meaningful, musical mission.
