Maria D’Ambrosio is a New England native studying Horn Performance at Boston Conservatory under Eli Epstein. Orchestral performance engagements have taken her from Symphony Hall to Carnegie Hall as a member of the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, and she has also toured with BPYO across Europe and South America. She made her west coast debut this fall with Evan Ziporyn’s Ambient Orchestra, performing in Virginia, Vermont, Texas, and California, and debuted in Canada in Summer 2018 performing in the Orchestre de la Francophonie under Jean-Phillipe Tremblay. In 2017 and 2018 Ms. D’Ambrosio attended Miami Music Festival’s Orchestral Institute studying with Gregory Miller and performing under maestros Yuriy Bekker, David Effron, and Joel Smirnoff. Other appearances have included performances with the Boston Conservatory Orchestra under maestros Jonathan McPhee and Ken-David Masur, and most recently a collaboration with the Silkroad Ensemble in Symphony Hall.
Ms. D’Ambrosio is also active in the field of arts administration. She has worked for the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s Education and Community Engagement Department throughout her college career, and also holds the positions of Ensembles Manager, Brass Department Assistant, and Performance Library Assistant at Boston Conservatory. She has served as a Resident Assistant at both Boston Conservatory and Miami Music Festival.
