Neil McNulty, senior at Boston Conservatory at Berklee, is a percussionist from New Jersey studying to be a performing musician across a wide variety styles and genres. Currently, he studies with Doug Perkins, Nancy Zeltsman, Samuel Solomon, and Kyle Brightwell at school, and he previously studied with Dr. Kenneth Piascik in Morristown, NJ.
In addition to the ensembles at the conservatory, Neil performs regularly with the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra at Harvard University and Symphony Hall and has accompanied the group in 2015, 2016, and 2017 on tours to cities around the world such as New York City, Prague, Berlin, Lucerne, Madrid, Barcelona, Lima, Buenos Aires, and many others. In the last few years, Neil has attended the Chosen Vale International Percussion Seminar and the Zeltsman Marimba Festival in 2016 and 2017.
As a freelance musician, Neil has developed interests in a variety of styles, participating in a large scale performance of John Luther Adams’ “Inuksuit" on Governor’s Island, playing world music with marimba band Marimba Canto de Guatemala, and performing in musicals, orchestra projects, and other new music concerts in the Boston area.
