Mark Macha grew up near Chicago and began taking piano lessons at the age of 6 and began playing trumpet 4 years later. Mark began playing trumpet in concert and jazz bands, but joined the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra in 2015 and was inspired to pursue a career in orchestral performance.
Since his orchestral debut, Mark has been a semi-finalist in the National Trumpet Competition and spent 2 summers playing principal trumpet at the Idyllwild Arts summer program in southern California. He has performed in a variety of orchestral settings, including the Illinois Philharmonic, the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, and was named principal in the Illinois All-State Honors Orchestra for two consecutive years.
Mark is currently an undergraduate student at New England Conservatory where he studies with Ben Wright of the Boston Symphony Orchestra
